Ishie

The design itself is very multifunctional and features a chain/strap combination for the first time.

This bag is the result of a collaboration with the Canadian-Chinese model and stylist, Ishie Wang. We don't often work directly with fashion models and even though for contractual reasons we are unable to use Ishie's images, we made an exception as we saw something special. There is a creative spark there which drives her passion for ageless design. Having walked the catwalks of North America for over a decade, Ishie is surprisingly not overly consumed by hi-fashion as you may think. There is a real sense of less is more with Ishie as she discussed her love of minimalism. The style she has honed over the years seems effortless and this resonates in the design of the bag.

During our conversations we discussed at length about paring things back, making them uncluttered and ageless. I thought at first that this was a desire to stay clear of fast fashion but there's deeper roots than that. Ishie values the products that she uses and wants to form that attachment. And that doesn't only stem from the look either, it's about the practicality of the bag and the origins of the product also. She gleefully hopes that others will form a similar attachment to the bag that bears her name.

Firstly the bag can be used cross body or by pulling the chain up onto the shoulder and turning the it into a very cute under-arm handbag. And of course there's the simple clutch version. The front of the design is simple and minimal with a nod to Ishies effortless style.
